Northwest San Antonio has a new BBQ king called Porky J's Memphis Style BBQ. It the best on that side of town. The pulled pork with slaw po' boy is excellent... The potato salad is the bomb, along with the sliced beef and ribs. San Antonio may just have a new BBQ king, or at least the heir apparent to the crown. This little joint is putting a hurting on those new franchise places right down the street. The San Antonio BBQ war has started... I can wait to get back to Porky J's.

Really great BBQ. I've been to Corky's in Memphis, and I'll put this up to them any day. And I really didn't mind the mixing of Texas and Memphis BBQ. Let's call it BBQ fusion. Rib ends -- perfect. Sausage -- much better than what you'll find in Memphis. And even their Brisket was very good. Thumbs up!

I ate at Porky J's today. I like the brisket 'cause the fat was the flavor, like down South BBQ should be. When I was there, it was a lot of people. The ones who had brisket -- I heard them saying it was good. The two brothers are nice; they asked you how it was. The people love the brisket 'cause down South BBQ is in the fat. To get it to taste good you have to know how to do it. Pepper is not the way.... The pie is good! Porky J's is the new TX BBQ king. It is true Memphis BBQ. TX dont have BBQ like Porky J's, so I think we should keep them around. Everyone needs to go, 'cause that is the BBQ KING OF TEXAS.

Porky J's is Memphis style, great down South BBQ... THE CROWN for Memphis style BBQ is PORKY J'S... When I ate there, everything was good. Me and my family had some of everything. BBQ sauce? Porky J's got it! Porky J's has took over the Northwest. I know we can all say that. -I.V. Devell San Antonio, TX The BBQ was really delicious. Ray talked us into the sampler, and we had ribs, brisket and pulled pork, as well as potato salad and baked beans. Plus, the sweet tea was exactly how I like it -- sweet! It is truly Memphis style barbecue, and they cook it in a nice little courtyard area, where there is also a nice table if you want to eat outdoors... We were still telling Ray how good his BBQ was. As more people try the place, the more popular it will become... We were very happy to find Porky J's... Let's support this place. The average ticket at Dickey's is $10 for a plate. Grady is still good but I think Porky is the king... Anyone wanting great Memphis BBQ in the Northwest side of town has an easy choice! Dickie's had better hope that the word doesn't get out about Porky J's!

Just got back from having dinner there. I think this place is going to live up to all the hype... We had the "Sampler" which is your choice of three different meats. We chose the ribs, brisket, and sausage. You order the sides seperate so we got potato salad, mac 'n' cheese, and baked beans. Let me just say, as someone who ordinarily is not a fan of pork, the ribs -- especially the ones that came to us cut up -- were craazzyy delicious! The sides, and the pork was soooo good! My husband had a sampling of the pulled pork, which he said was pretty good too... The mac n cheese was insaneazoid! We were pretty much fighting over it. They tell us everything is homemade, and it tastes like it is... The two brothers who own it are super nice too, and overall I don't think anyone would be disapointed. Hope y'all do check it out soon.

Eating the same thing at Dickies cost us $30. It cost a little over $17 here... This place is a breath of fresh air in the San Antonio BBQ scene. Give the place a try. I'm sure you'll like it. It's going to give the other BBQ shops a run for their money.
